Customer Declaration: Pets will only be accepted for grooming after the Owner (or other responsible person) has filled in and signed the Client Registration Card. We reserve the right to turn away any pet for any reason that we deem necessary. By signing the registration card and the treatment record, you are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions. We will not groom your pet without a signed treatment record and registration form. We reserve the right to photograph your pet for the benefit of our records and they may be used in our promotional material.
Vaccinations: All pets must be up to date with their vaccinations. Any pets not fully vaccinated will be turned away. If we are not made aware that your pet is not vaccinated then it is left in our care entirely at your (and your pet’s) own risk.
Bitches: We cannot accept any bitch that is in season for any treatment, please re-book for the week after your bitch finishes her season. We cannot accept any pregnant bitch for any treatment as this can risk the unborn puppies through stress of the mother.
Coat Condition: It is assumed that you will bring your pet into the salon in a reasonable condition. That is; that you groom your pet at home regularly between appointments. Any heavily soiled or matted pet will incur an additional charge. We may ask the owner to rebook on this occasion for a longer time slot.
Matted Pets: In the event of any pet needing a clip off, the owner should be aware that irritation may occur from the clipping process, as well as uncovering scabs, cuts or other potential problems. The owner agrees that Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services and/or its staff will not be held liable for any after-grooming effects of matt clipping procedures or problems “uncovered” by clipping off a badly matted coat. This could include: itchiness, skin redness, irritations, abrasions or minor cuts. No pet will be subjected to stress or discomfort and all pets will be groomed in accordance with The Animal Welfare Act 2007. A matted coat will always incur extra fees for both clipping and/or brushing out. This will be discussed with the owner prior to grooming commencing.
Dangerous Pets: If the pet has bitten or has any aggressive tendencies the owner must disclose this on the grooming contract. Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services reserves the right to humanely and safely muzzle your pet or ask you to muzzle your own pet or to refuse to groom it if it represents a danger to our staff or other pets in the salon.
Cancelling your appointment: When you make an appointment with Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services, you are obliged to give us at least 24 hour notice to allow us to fill your appointment slot. Shorter notice than this may be chargeable.
Neglection Issues: If we suspect any case of neglect or animal cruelty, we reserve the right to inform the SPCA.
Toilet Time: Please try to ensure your pet has had an adequate chance to relieve itself before you come to the salon.
Anal Glands: anal gland expression is deemed to be a “veterinary procedure” therefore we will not perform this treatment.
Payment: Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services accepts cash and credit / debit cards.
Finally: If you are unsure which tools and / or products to use, or are struggling in any way with home grooming, then please ask, we’re happy to help and advise you.
We are a flea free salon and intend to stay that way!
If you know your pet has fleas:
If your pet has fleas we reserve the right to refuse your appointment and you will be asked to treat them before booking their next appointment.
If we discover fleas on your pet:
If during the groom we find fleas on your pet, we will have no option but to bath your pet immediately in a suitable flea shampoo in order to prevent an infestation in the Salon. We may then also need to treat the salon area dependant on severity of fleas. If this occurs then we will charge you an additional fee of £12 for the pet and salon fumigation treatment.
If we discover ticks on your pet:
If we find ticks on your pet, larger ones will be removed but will incur an additional charge. If we discover an infestation the groom will continue until finished. We will notify you upon collection and advise that you seek veterinary attention immediately.
Worms:
Your pet should be up to date with worming treatment. If you think your pet may have worms then let us know so we can discuss your grooming options. You will also be advised to seek veterinary attention as soon as possible.
De-Matting Policy
When a pet is presented in a severely matted condition, it is Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Services policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. In these circumstances to de-matt would cause the animal stress and discomfort and therefore shaving a coat is quicker and gentler on the animal. Pets can be traumatised by lengthy and uncomfortable de-matting sessions and it can put them off the grooming process for life.
If you require help and advice on how to care for your pet between grooming sessions please do feel free to ask, I will be more than happy to chat.
NB: De-matting can be a time consuming process and extra time may be chargeable. You will be fully consulted and made aware of any additional charge to be levied. However discounts are available for rescue pets and those in foster – please ask for details.
